Engine parts... another semi fetish of mine.  But hey, with 10 cars, you have to have a supply of cool go power parts to back them up, right?

Tools
Original Stuska dyno.  Supposedly came from an early southern california shop.
Superflow flow bench.
If you're going to build engines, you need a proper engine stand.  Here is my Matra 313 engine stand.
Cranks and cams
36hp okrasa kit... crank, heads, mahle stroker pistons, etc.  read the whole story.
NOS 40hp case.  Future project :-)  The gold color is the cosmoline and not the dow coating for a 36hp case.

69mm Okrasa crank for 40hp
Two NOS spg roller cranks for 40hp.  One is 64mm and the other 69 mm strokes.
69mm SPG roller crank for 40hp (20mm wrist pins)

NOS 69mm SPG roller crank for a 1500 (22mm wrist pins).  Also shown are the bearings for the crank that have been notched to provide adequate oil.  No modifications are made to the smaller #1 bearing.

NOS 78.4mm Okrasa crank

NOS 82mm SPG roller crank
NOS 6V 8 dowel flywheel.  This came from a late 60's drag car collection.
Crown flywheel
NOS empi throw out bearing and crank bolt

Deano cam
Deano cam kit... opened but complete with cam assembly lube, bolts and sticker.
NOS Crower cam kit from 1971.
NOS Iskenderian 'Valve train weapons'

Empi cams, One race and one 821, mild grind
40hp 'Super Race' cam kit
Crower cam kit from 1982
EMPI valve spring spacers for 40hp
NOS empi valve springs for a 40 hp.  Gotta love that vintage sticker!
NOS set of Empi 40hp valves.  I'm missing 1 of them.

EMPI intake and exhaust valves and seats for a 1600.  The box is post marked Dec, 1 '71 from Riverside with an August 29 San Bernardino paper wadded up in it.

82mm pistons and cylinders.  Note that in the mid 60's, 82mm P/Cs were the 'hot' big bore kit.  Later, 83mm pistons were stock VW items for the 1500cc motors.

I WANT MORE OF THESE!!!! Please email me if you have a set or singles.

NOS in the box EMPI 82mm pistons.
NOS 82mm Kolbenschmidt pistons for 40 hp.
NOS NPR 83mm P/Cs for 40hp
Empi 88 P/Cs... Used but in great condition.  Non-slipper skirt.  These were the typical Big Bore kit that Empi sold.  I'm thinking of using these with the 1500 okrasa kit shown below and a 69mm roller.  Maybe it could go in the firebus so we can get to the fire quickly :-)

Empi 88 slipper skirt P/Cs.  I have an nos set and one slightly used.  I'll use the slightly used set in the double cab engine.

Note that these cylinders are exactly like those used in the round skirt set above.  Cylinders are stamped Mahle Empi 88.

For comparison, I show the round skirt piston on the left and the slipper skirt on the right.

NOS Deano DDS piston and cylinder set.  92mm made by NPR.  Both piston and cylinders have a 'NPR DEANO' insignia.  Read about them in the 71 DDS catalog I have posted up in the literature section of my site.

94mm Deano P/Cs.  These are for a 40hp and not a 1600!
early packaging Gene Berg 88mm barrel spacers

Okrasa 36 and 40hp heads... I stupidly sold the 40 hp heads and am looking for another set.  The 36hp heads are going in my 58 ghia vert with the mag supercharger

Race Shop heads.  Dual ports and Stamped FF4
NOS EMPI race heads from 1970.  The box shown has a November 1970 post mark

1300/1500 Okrasa kit... yes, not a 36 or 40 hp kit.  This is cut for 94s but I think I'll weld them up and re cut for either some 88s or 92s.  Interesting cast aluminum valve covers that were made in Switzerland.  Carbs are Zenith NDIX
Empi/Speedwell valve guides.  From the early 60's.  These little items are what got Empi started!

Also is a package of 36hp guides in a later package.

Funky 40hp cast aluminum rockers
Sig Erson roller rockers for a 40hp.
NOS Sig Erson rockers

Empi 1.4 rockers
Empi 1.4 rockers with Gene Berg shafts

Valve covers

NOS Scat covers

NOS Empi covers
Empi GT valve covers

Even more covers.
Unknown era and brand covers
Auto craft valve covers.  These look like many of the other covers like the dds ones but the emblem has been machined away and an 'AutoCraft' plaque riveted to the covers.
NOS Racetrim valve covers with hardware and perfect wrinkle black finish.
AeroVee valve covers.  Do You know anything about these?  Drop me an email if you do.
Rimco valve covers

68 or so vintage EMPI 48IDA kit.  Check out the instructions.  Included is the linkage, 48 ida carbs and intakes.  Very rare kit indeed!

Hilborn injectors.  I was lucky enough to find a guy that had a whole pile of these and I ended up buying all 4+ sets that he had.  Too bad only one throttle body had the ram pipes on it, but I'll find some more.

These set up with a nice larger displacement case would make a nice mid 70's nostalgia drag motor... hmmm another project?

NOS Hilborn kit.  I have the instructions posted as well

Race Trim 48 IDA intake manifolds
Empi intakes for Weber 40dcn14 carbs.  Note the three bolt base to the carburetors unlike the later, 4 bolt types for the weber dcnf types.  These go with the air cleaners and linkage kit below to make up a complete Empi ETWV-4400 kit.

Deano and 'no name' brand carb intakes.  Note the deano intakes are three bolt for DCN and the others are 4 bolt, DCNF.

Solex P11 carburetors and Empi intakes.  The carbs are of the split shaft design.
Early tall empi p11 intakes and carb bases.
RaceTrim center mount intake.  NOS unit with some 'shelf' wear.  Note the heat riser tubes... these are almost always gone!

Deano intake with Weber DCN 40 carb
NOS Empi intake for a 40hp... i.e. flat ends leading to the head.

NOS Empi intake with 010 distibutors.  This intake is for a 1500 single port... i.e. the ends are at an angle.

Speedwell sprint carb sets... I own 2 full sets, one is NOS.  Find out more by looking at my Speedwheel sprint carb page and reading the instructions that I have posted.

Zenith DVG and Zenith Stromberg, 32NDIX carbs.  One of my 'DVG' sets is with a set of 1500 okrasa heads.  the stromberg one is marked '57  06.

The DVG carbs are stamped PO10 if the were originally setup for a single carb installation and PO19L and PO19R for dual carb setups.

Another pair of Zenith carbs on some 'SS' manifolds from West Germany.

Weber DCN 40 14 carbs.  These were what you ran if not 48 IDAs back in the late 60's and early 70's.  ... well ok, those or p11s or dual strombergs, or ....

Another pair of Weber DCN 40 14 carbs with early Scat intake manifolds.
Empi DCN 40 aircleaners and linkage... NOS.
A pair of Holly bugspray carburators
Deano weber 42dcnf carbs and intakes.  Why are these things always missing the air cleaners???  Yes, I do have the pair.
Cyclone air filters.  Used on several early 36hp motors.  Manufactured by Knect
NOS air cleaner from Eelco.  Fits stock carbs.

Deano DDS linkage.  I added a few images with a tape measure so if you find yourself with only the center pivot, you can study these pictures and make your own pull bars.  Just in case you can't quite make out the numbers, the overall length of the arms is 80 cm.

Early Berg linkage
NOS Race trim linkage
NOS empi linkage kit in the box

Empi 48 IDA banjo fittings
Empi glass fuel filter
Empi fuel filters.  Note the two not in the bag are not originals... the one in the bag is and is a deeper blue color.
Empi glass filter from the early 60's
Vintage 60's Moon fuel pressure gauge.  I was very ecstatic when I finally found this little gem.

Empi aircleaners

Empi 1967 aircleaner

NOS Speedwell velocity stacks

70's era Rajay turbo kit.
Mag supercharger.  I'm putting this on a 36hp okrasa motor for my 58 ghia.

Pepco supercharger

Pepco super charger for a Crosley motor.

The third Pepco supercharger.  Note the back side bearing plate of this one is the same thickness as the front... The other two have a thinner back bearing plate.  The cup thingy shown is a place for oil.

Shorrock supercharger.  The kit even has an original, NOS belt.  Its missing the correct aircleaner.  If you have one, please email me.

Santana pulleys
Santana and Andeck power pulleys shown with a normal size Santana for comparison

Berg pulley

Truhaft pulley
Race trim power pulley.  This came from the same casting mold as a DDS pulley (which I'm still looking for)

Scintilla magneto
Mallory magneto
Judson coil.  Check out the instruction sheet
NOS EMPI transspark ignition kit.  This one is 12V negative ground.
NOS blue screamer kit.

Original 'Blue Screamer Kit' parts.  Note the blue coils have the screw terminals

Bosch 010 distributors, one very close to NOS
Empi points
Truhaft and Scat distributors.  These are basically identical except for the tags
Mallory dual point distributor.  I still can't figure out the thinking behind the dual points... it just seems to complicate things and the timing of the discharge would be messed up.
Aftermarket 36 hp muffler from Italy.
NOS 40hp muffler similar to Abarth

Empi muffler with header.  Fresh air style.  The muffler is the same was as below

Empi muffler.  Stale air header for a 40 hp motor.  Note there are differences in the muffler outlet.  Some have a baffle, some don't. from that of the muffler above.

Another empi four bolt flange header and muffler.  Complete with sticker over the header outlet.  I have the original instruction sheet for this muffler.
NOS Cyclone header... these were available in the late 60's and 70's.  A nice find complete with instructions and stickers.  'Cyclone' is cast into the end pieces.
Empi four bolt flange muffler for a Porsche 914.  I picked this one up since it would be able to be used with the VW exhaust.

NOS empi four bolt stingers, one paint and one chrome.
DDS muffler for type 4 or Porsche.  It's not marked but I purchased it from a shop that had a bunch of old DDS inventory and it matches the catalogs
Race trim Exhaust gasket... cool wall hanging!
NOS magnetic oil strainer kit for a 36hp motor.
Empi brass T senders, the larger can is the oil pressure gauge sender.
Early Empi remote oil filter and lines.
Empi Oil pumps, one NOS with filter

NOS deano dry sump pump.  Different than the one above.  Check out the box and sticker.  The pump was packed in newspapers dated Sept. 3, 1972.  Sorry that the original purple paint on the pump cover didnt show up.  Maybe I'll try and get a better pic.

Deano dry sump

Deano oil pump cover and remote oil filter

Empi oil filter cartridge for F-3 filter for porsche.

Empi sump.  One in the box with hardware.
Deano DDS oil sump, NOS in the box with part number stamped on the box and package containing the adaptor hardware.  Note that the early DDS catalog illustrates a sump with a logo on the flat round area on the bottom of the sump.  The later catalogs only shows the top of the sump.  If you have a sump with a 'deano' logo, please email me.  I'd buy it or, just to have the knowledge that one exist would be good enough.
Treuhauf sump.
Race trim sump, breather box and valve covers
Empi dual oil cooler setup up... funky!
Speedwell oil cooler for behind the fan installation with a Sprint kit
Early Claudes Buggies breather box
Empi dress up kits
