 _small.jpg) |
Speedwell steering wheels. One restored,
the other not. The wheel with the darker wood is what I
would consider an *older* speedwell wheel. It has a turn signal cancel
stamped '04 02 65'. I couldn't get three of the hub screws loose (and
didn't want to try at this time) of the older wheel but the center of the
spokes has not been cut like the newer wheel. The center hole in the
spokes fits the hub perfectly. My guess is the lighter colored wheel
is more of a generic steering wheel that was used with a VW hub. I
could find no insignias on either wheel except for the date stamp on the
older wheel part.

Unknown steering wheel. 13". Is
similar to the steering wheel advertised in the
67 scat catalog but no quite. The hub is a Petri unit (has the
insignia). The wheel has a logo with a DP inside a circle. |
|
 |
Empi horn button. This is
an original one... note that there are reproductions now-a-days. Be
careful that you dont buy a repop one that is said to be og. The logos
are different and obvious. |

Restall recliner seats. These seats
came from the original Empi Inch Pincher III drag car. |
_small.jpg) _small.jpg) |
Custom Restall high back seats. These
were NOS as the story is told, someone bought them and then wrecked the
car before the seats were installed. They went into the attic storage where
the sheep skin insert deteriorated somewhat. The black vinyl is in
perfect shape
and the Restall stickers are still there. Note the difference in the seat pedestals from
the seats above. Right now I use them as shop chairs to relax in and
listen to the music! |

 |
Empi 'orange needle' gauges. From 1970.
There were two productions that I am aware of these gauges and they are
either stamped 1970 or 1971. I picked up an extra brake warning light
since that part of the gauge sets are almost always gone. I found a box
and the styrofoam holder so that's where I store these gauges. |
