Interior parts.

EMPI AM and AM/FM radios
Petri wheel.
Empi Riverside 500 wheel... similar to mid 60's Porsche wheels except for the horn button.
Empi Universal steering wheel
NOS 15" empi steering wheel with box!
NOS 15" empi gt wheel, no box but with the protective blue pad.  This wheel has never been mounted
Empi 14" GTV steering wheel

Empi wood trim steering wheel with padded button.  One wheel complete, the other with a different button.  Note that these wheels are much deeper than a GTV wheel

Empi padded trim wheel.  One complete with padded button, the other missing the button.  Note that these wheels are much deeper than a GTV wheel

NOS Empi carriage steering wheel.  These are always cracked at the 12:00 o-clock position but this one isn't :-)

Speedwell steering wheels.  One restored, the other not.  The wheel with the darker wood is what I would consider an *older* speedwell wheel.  It has a turn signal cancel stamped '04 02 65'.  I couldn't get three of the hub screws loose (and didn't want to try at this time) of the older wheel but the center of the spokes has not been cut like the newer wheel.  The center hole in the spokes fits the hub perfectly.  My guess is the lighter colored wheel is more of a generic steering wheel that was used with a VW hub.  I could find no insignias on either wheel except for the date stamp on the older wheel part.

Item Old (dark wood) New (light wood)
Horn button stock pre68 bus unit stock pre68 bus unit
Smallest spoke hole 6mm 10mm
Largest spoke hole 20mm 22mm
Hub base cast? machined (sharp corners)
Hub screws flat head machine cheese head machine
turn signal cancel screw round head sheet metal cheese head machine
turn signal cancel stamped '04 02 65' missing
Overall diameter 14" 14"

Unknown steering wheel.  13".  Is similar to the steering wheel advertised in the 67 scat catalog but no quite.  The hub is a Petri unit (has the insignia).  The wheel has a logo with a DP inside a circle.

Empi horn button.  This is an original one... note that there are reproductions now-a-days.  Be careful that you dont buy a repop one that is said to be og.  The logos are different and obvious.

steering wheel cover and cool broadie knob.  I don't think the knob is a true vintage piece but cool none the less.

NOS grant steering wheel hub and horn button kit.  Fits all Grant and most Superior brand steering wheels.

Empi padded dash
NOS Empi stamped GHE bug grab handle.  This has a speckled pattern instead of the common ribbed pattern of VW issue grab handles.

Empi wood dash kits

Empi Add-a-dash kit

Kamei center consoles and foot rest.  One console is for mounting gauges and the other has a speaker built into it.

Underdash parcel shelf
Speewell gas pedal.  Actually for a mini.
Empi dash knobs
Kamie rear shelf.  I have a NOS unit (shown) and a rough one.
Empi coat hanger
Restall recliner seats.

These seats came from the original Empi Inch Pincher III drag car.

Custom Restall high back seats.  These were NOS as the story is told, someone bought them and then wrecked the car before the seats were installed.  They went into the attic storage where the sheep skin insert deteriorated somewhat.  The black vinyl is in perfect shape and the Restall stickers are still there.   Note the difference in the seat pedestals from the seats above.  Right now I use them as shop chairs to relax in and listen to the music!

Empi front seats with original pads.

Fiberglass buckets are held to steel frames with blind pop rivets.

Pads are held to metal frame using snaps

Empi rear seat... this doesn't match the front seats I have as the original one had the same heat seamed pads.
Empi head rests.  Need help and the little thumb knobs
Hull seat recliners

In the bag door pulls.  Note the 4.95 price tag!
Gauges
Moto meter.  NOS outside temperature gauge
Motometer 3 in 1 gauge with senders along with another almost perfect 3 in 1 gauge.
Late 50's Accelerometer.   Cool!
Ghia trip speedometer
Empi Corvair tach.  This was also used on consoles such as for a dyno.
Shorrock supercharger boost gauge.  Yes, I have the supercharger to go with it.  It's shown on the engine page.
Empi Gauges.  I have a complete set of white globe gauges, a black globe tach, and a complete set of 70's 'red needle' gauges.  Ammeter box is a fun display item.
another white glove oil pressure gauge, this one is goes to 140 lbs.
Empi 'black globe' gauges.  I'm still looking for a cylinder head temp gauge and an oil temp gauge in this series.

Empi black globe tachometer.

Shown for comparison, a white and black globe tach and also showing the original mount.

Empi 'orange needle' gauges.  From 1970.  There were two productions that I am aware of these gauges and they are either stamped 1970 or 1971.

I picked up an extra brake warning light since that part of the gauge sets are almost always gone.

I found a box and the styrofoam holder so that's where I store these gauges.

NOS Empi dash tach in the box dated '70
NOS Empi Ammeter
empi NOS oil pressure gauge.
Speedwell gauges.  Very cool!
In the box, never opened Speedwell 'Westin' tach.
Speedwell Tach gauge pod NOS in box with instructions
Another type of Speedwell tach pod, with box.  It appears to have been used before but is the correct style that I want for my 'someday ghia project'.

Two NOS Speedwell ammeters.  Note early and late box styles.
NOS Speedwell vacuum gauge
Speedwell oil pressure, ammeter, and vacuum gauge.  With a real side badge
Early speedwell oil temp gauge (as shown in the '68 empi catalog)
Yet another speedwell oil temp gauge.  note the differences in the Speedwell logo from the other two gauges shown on this page.
NOS oil pressure gauge
NOS Speedwell gauge pods, early and late box styles.
NOS 60's Moon oil temperature gauge
Rajay turbo boost gauge.  From the same people that made the judson gauge but this one goes to 30 psi  Check out the rest of the turbo kit in the engine section
NOS AutoHaus cylinder head temp gauge
NOS Sun tachometer with correct for VW, 6 volt, 4 cylinder sender unit
Sun tachometer with NOS sender.  Check out the instructions.
NOS Auto-meter tach and rev limiter.  From the mid 70's.  I'm told this unit doesn't quite compare to the modern units but does its job nicely.
NOS Hollywood Compass... vintage late 60's accessory to help not getting lost going to that next VW show :-)
A complete, near NOS Empi Eliminator shifter.  Note the boot is perfect and I have all the correct screws :-)
Another type of empi shifter
Speedwell quick shift
Hurst shifters

Deano 'Safe T Shifter'.  Note, the chromed handle version was sold by Autohaus and others.  Details show how the reverse lockout trigger works.
NOS Deano shifter in the box!!
Deano and Scat bus shifters
Hirst Indy shifter and Superior brand
Hurst FV shifter
EMPI wood knob and shift lever extension
EZR shifter.
Empi trigger shifter
Gene Berg locking shifter
NOS Cal Custom, Eelco, and Ansen shift knobs.
